Follow this for the Khandala Scenic Route
This route i have planned in such a was whereby you reduce the amount of time riding on the Highway (NH48) and explore the inner areas of Old Khandala. you start your journey from Quattro Bistro and head on the highway. But dont worry within a kilometre you will find yourself at the railway gate to cross over to the inner route. keep in mind Gate timings may vary and you may have to wait 10 to 15 mins to cross. worry within a kilometre you will find yourself at the railway gate to cross over to the inner route. keep in mind Gate timings may vary and you may have to wait 10 to 15 mins to cross.
Once you cross the railway tracks you are taken through a green neighbourhood with winding roads and tall trees. You are in a quiet residential area now. with birds chirping, squirrel squabbling and monkeys goofing around. The road is a roller coaster going up and down and winding around. but its mostly down hill and you can do it without breaking a sweat.
You are then taken through yet another crossing with similar wait times as its the same track after all. right after that your come back on the highway with the Khandala lake on your left. This place is cool too for having a stroll around the lake.
You can now move on from this to your next location thats waterfall view point. but before we reach there, lets take a detour through a beautiful neighbourhood with good looking streets. Remember this windy path goes up and down through the hilly areas. you may need your legs to be good shape. You exit this neighbourhood through a rough patch of road. Soon enough you find your self reaching the breathtaking views of the Kune waterfall and the Khandala Hills.
You can probably have a snack at the the viewing point. watch the monkeys goof around. There is a park next to the Sitara restaurant for more views inside and quick stroll. you can even visit the Waghjai Devi Temple. its a small temple i used to visit as a child with spectacular views.
Moving on you can can choose to go further down the road if you feel you have the energy to get back up. Ofcourse the pedal assist will help you, but only so much. dont expect the way up is gonna be easy. Let's say you do choose to go down hill, more amazing views await. but be very careful heavy traffic going down. Be safe. you can choose to turn around whenever you feel you have has enough. If you choose to ride at night please wear a high visibility vest.
On the return journey get on the highway and go through Fariyas resort yet another inner route. and get back to Quattro Bistro Inner route.
